Can I search only within my own account?
Yes. On the Search page, Search in opens on My account, which searches only the feeds you follow and the articles you keep. It works on every plan, and you can narrow it down to one feed, folder or tag.
Narrow the search
- Click Search in the tab bar.
- Keep Search in on My account. To narrow it, open the scope list and pick Newsfeed, a feed, folder or tag, Annotations, Web pages, Uploads or Intelligence reports.
- Type your words and press Enter.

The scope list starts with Newsfeed, your saved articles, Annotations, Web pages, Uploads and Intelligence reports, followed by the sections Feeds, Folders, Tags, Monitored keywords, Team channels and Team folders for the ones you have. Type in Filter items to find one quickly.
Newsfeed searches every feed you follow yourself, together with your saved web pages. Feeds you no longer follow aren't included. A feed or folder scope covers every article Inoreader has indexed for it, read or unread. You can also search inside one feed or folder from the box above its article list, as Can I search within a specific feed or folder? describes.
Filter the results
The row above the results has Language, Match, Order and Specific period. Results come newest first and cover the past year unless you change those two. How do I search for articles in Inoreader? covers the search box and these filters in detail, and the video shows them.
Turn a search into a monitoring feed
A search over a folder, a feed or a team folder can become a monitoring feed limited to it: click Create monitoring feed next to the result count. A search over a tag or one of the other scopes becomes a monitoring feed over your whole Newsfeed.
Plans and limits
Searching My account works on every plan. The All public feeds tab and the Language filter are Pro: on Free the public tab shows one result and an upgrade prompt. What is Global search? explains that tab, and the feature page Find any article in your feeds and beyond has an overview.
