When (and how) was last time you used <?php not in first line of file

I'm still annoyed that PHP is the only major language which need declaration of `<?php` in files where there is only PHP code, there should be some switch in configuration to allow files without it. Learning PHP as a beginner

I have never programmed before. However, I have a very serious interest in learning PHP and SQL. I am open to any suggestions on where to start and what to focus on. DSL tool to represent reports (SQL, HTML)

Hard thing to google, apparently, but are there no libs for DSL representing a relation between sql and html? I'm thinking json that includes column names and how to show them in a table, or csv.
